Tribred Electric Trikke

Tribred - Electric Trikke

With this dual-speed electric carving vehicle, you can cruise along at the econo setting of 12 mph, or hit the express setting with a max of 17 mph.

 Tribred Trikke

Cruising range is up to 12 miles on a single charge with each charge costing, on average, less than 4 cents!! Riders can use electric power alone or add the familiar Trikke carving motion to go farther and faster!

Your carving vehicle still folds up the same compact size for travel and storage the frame is the same as the green T78A-DX. Battery takes approximately 5 hours for full recharge - just plug charger into any 110 volt wall socket.

Carve turns as you ride (and still get a killer workout) while you commute or run errands - saving $ and gas!!

Trikke has developed and released an electric conversion kit for the T12, T8 & T78. It's called the "Tribred". It's a hub motor incorporated into the hub of the front wheel and is powered by a 36 volt battery pack that mounts to the steering column and has a motorcycle type throttle that allows you to vary your speed. The great thing about adding the electric kit is you can still "carve" under human power and get the same great exhilarating full body workout. The motor is optional to use once installed! You still get the great workout even while throttling because your natural motion, at least for an experienced Trikke carver, is to continue the carving action while power is applied.

Trikke Electric – T8 Tribred VERY Limited Time Offer!

Wakeboarding (1)
Author: Vigdis S. Aas

What is wakeboarding? It was created by combining water skiing, snow snowboarding, and surfing. Before it was called wakeboarding people called it surfing. Wakeboarding is when you have person being towed behind a boat, looking much like water skiing but they just a board that looks much like a snowboard.

The board itself looks like a cross of a snowboard and a skateboard.  The board can float and is typically around 130-147 cm long and about 45 cm wide. They are wider and shorter than your typical snowboard.

In addition, unlike snowboards that are concave, wakeboards are bowed. When it comes to the boat, they are like some to water skiing boats, but the rope is normally mounted on a tower about two meters about the water line and the boat is usually weighted to give a larger wake.

A wake is used as ramps are used in many other board sports. To steer the board you must use a combo of direction and cutting edges into the water. A rider can move outside of the wake and then cut rabidly in towards the wake, which will allow it to launch the rider into the air. They are many techniques and cuts that are used in the sport. Over the years, people have come up with various tricks like the elephant or tantrum that has made the sport a very interesting one.

This is much like a freestyle sport and has become very popular on the shores. It has even been recently added to the X games. Both woman and men are allowed to compete in the X games. When it comes to the X games, it's much like the competition of all competitions.

It's a championship and allows the riders to get creative and they are pressured to show the judged something more spectacular than any other rider. When it comes to the X games, each person must show some kind of trick that they have mastered and feel comfortable with.

They must make their act stand out above the rest and they must take in consideration many factors when it comes to planning their show. The sport itself offers an opportunity for self-expression or art. Wakeboarding is limited to beginners, but with practice, you can be doing tricks like the pros. It is important as a beginner to not push yourself too hard. Learning too much at once can cause harm or flaws in your shows.

You will need to allow yourself to take the time to learn each trick before going on to another one, because the added pressure will become more stressful when the showdown begins. It can be a fun sport to learn, but it can also be dangerous like any other water sport.

Cycling since the beginning
Author: Jill Woods

There are some facts that indicate the bicycle appeared since the early Egyptian civilizations, but the origin in modern times was found in Germany in 1817.

There are more than 800 millions of cycling bicycles around the world and the very first bicycle was named "running machine" and "fun horse".

The bicycle was considered a perfect instrument to exercise and also as a competition device. The first race took place in 1870 in Italy in a 33km trip and the winner was Rynner Van Neste.

England hosted the first World Championship (Aylestone Roads) in 1883; the French Frederic from Civry won the championship.

At the end of the XIX century, the first publications of Cycling as a sport were published, and during the early XX century the big races started to be held as the Tour de France (race that took 19 days and was composed by 6 stages and with a total trip of 2.428 km), the Giro d'Italia, the Vuelta Ciclista a España and The Olimpic games.

Cycling became a very popular sport around the world with thousands of fans and since there are many people that practices the sport.

Trikke Roadster 12

Trikke 12 Roadster

The New 2006 T12 Roadster finally released!

Trikke Roadster
The T12 has been designed for more aggressive riders who want to throw their body into their riding more completely, and not have to worry about cracks, bumps or rough pavement.  It also has been said to feel more like powder skiing, as opposed to the hard-pack skiing sensation found on the polyurethane tires.  Quieter, meaner looking, and putting a rider a full 13" above the ground, the T12 is proving to be a must-have for the Trikke enthusiasts.  Its disc braking system provide very smooth and controlled braking for more confidence in downhill riding and the pneumatic tires allow the rider to carve turns much deeper and harder than before.  The T12 takes the experience to the next level and is the Ultimate in Fun & Fitness!

Skiing and fitness observations from Vail
Author: Stella Parker

The following are some miscellaneous observations from my current ski trip at Vail.

Functional training is excellent physical preparation for skiing. I've definitely noticed a big improvement in my skiing and my "comfort factor" on the slopes since I started functional training with a personal trainer. Ski lessons are also extremely important, but they will only take you so far if you are not in good shape. Functional training, with its emphasis on core strength, dynamic conditioning and plometrics is ideally suited to improving your skiing and allowing you to feel more comfortable and safe on the slopes.

Physical therapists "get" the importance of using functional fitness equipment for rehabilitation and injury prevention in sports and just in every day living. As an example of this, on the local Vail TV channel there was a good basic demonstration of the use of the fitness ball (sometimes called a Swiss ball or exercise ball) by a physical therapist.

Anecdotal evidence provides an understanding of why Colorado is one of the fittest states. On my way to slopes this morning, walking down a steep road to the lifts, I passed a runner in full winter gear running up hill at a good clip on hard snow pack. She had a standard poodle running along side and appeared to be just out for a normal exercise with her pet. The physical exertion involved in running up hill at an elevation of 8,200 feet, in extremely cold weather on a slippery surface is significant. You won't see the average person doing this kind of physical activity in too many other states.

A solid core warm up before skiing is helpful. I normally do about 10 minute of light functional conditioning just before suiting up to head out to the slopes. It's enough to improve flexibility and activate the core but not enough to wear you out before skiing. It seems to make a difference in my skiing.

Generally speaking, this is a great time to be in Vail as snow conditions are excellent but the holiday crowds have not yet descended. Many of Vail's famous runs were empty today. There were no lift lines. There was powder and packed powder throughout the mountain. Vail continues to offer some of the best skiing terrain in the US and the owners continue to re-invest in the mountain to improve facilities and the overall winter experience.

A Brief History of Scooters
Author: Kent Pinkerton

Scooters were first known as a child's vehicle that dates back to before 1920. Although scooters were being manufactured, the majority of older children fashioned their own out of miscellaneous used parts. Remember the Little Rascal movies with scooters made out of produce crates? Technology and economies have changed since that time, allowing for today's mass produced scooters to offer a variety models and to be sold at a reasonably low cost.

Modern scooters not only include the push scooters that require a little bit of exercise, but also feature electric and gas motorized models. Advancements in technology have made way for many physically impaired individuals to replace wheel chairs with motorized scooters and mobility scooters. Competition among scooter manufacturers has led to unique design features as well as miniature low-powered motorcycles.

Motorized scooters are considered low-power motor vehicles by many municipalities and are subject to state and local regulations. Some scooters meet Department of Transportation regulations for operation on streets and roadways while others are prohibited from being on the streets. Any time a motorized vehicle is introduced into traffic areas, appropriate cautionary measures must be taken and proper safety gear must be worn.

Scooters can be easily found in the retail market, however not all retailers will carry all styles. Major discount or department stores may only carry a couple of models that they believe will be the most popular among their shoppers. A scooter store could specialize in a variety of recreational scooters, while another store will specialize in the mobility scooters.

Retailers also offer scooter accessories to enhance the experience as well as replacement parts and service. Any style of scooter can be purchased online for retail pricing. The current market demand for scooters makes it hard to find them at wholesale prices for a single purchase, but there are many opportunities for an individual to become a scooter dealer.

Skateboarding - One of the most exciting and skilled board sports
Author: Ben Ruhland

Skateboarding has developed quite a bit in recent years. For decades when skateboarding was in its infancy, it was seen as an activity performed by youngsters, mainly rebel kids. In these earlier years skateboarders were perceived as outcasts who went around vandalizing other people's property by skating on it. It is becoming more understood these days but it still has a long way to go before people will fully understand the skill and dedication that goes into this sport. The basics of skateboarding like pushing yourself along the street are easy to learn but once you get into the tricks and manoeuvres such as the most basic trick, the ollie, it takes quite a bit more practice to master.

You need to learn the ollie as it's a fundamental move that is combined into the majority of tricks where the board leaves the ground. The ollie is what could be considered a "jump" where the skateboard and the rider leave the ground with the board under their feet. To really master this basic move it can take a natural skater up to a year to really get it down. When learning to skateboard some protective gear can go a long way to ensuring your safety as you can expect to take many falls when first starting out. A decent helmet, some elbow pads and knee pads will give you the safety you're looking for and a little extra confidence knowing you won't get too hurt when you fall.

You can buy this protective gear fairly cheap from most skate shops and even some general purpose stores. It's easy to get nervous when first starting out on a skateboard because your balance will most likely be very out of tune. But don't worry, every single skater you see out there on the skate park doing all those big moves, grinding rails, doing big grabs on the half pipe, they were all just like you when they started out. It's a sport that takes a lot of dedication, and it relies on practice. If you put in the hours you'll be popping kick flips in a matter of months. So go out there and get practicing, it'll keep you busy for many years to come. For more sports articles visit: http://www.choozle.com/sports/
